I bought these shorts to help prolong the life of my 3/2 mm wetsuit through a Southern California winter.
The shorts provided just the extra warmth I needed around my core and also made slipping into and out of a wetsuit easier to do.

I was originally looking for a thin 1mm spring suit that could fit under my wetsuit but settled on the shorts when I could not find one of these with a reasonable price. The price tag of the shorts made them worth a risk.

The shorts turned out to be great for summer too, allowing me to start surfing in boardshorts (with the Hyperflex shorts underneath)even when the water temperature was not perfect for boardshorts only.
