Solid construction, easy in and out, zippered below calf and reinforced at the knee. Using for stand up paddle surfing in conjuction with reef booties for most of the winter, and a 2 mil LS top on cold days. If you can't trunk it, this is the next level in warmth and freedom of movement, without overheating from being out of the water for long stretches here in Southern California. I'd be using a 3/2 full suit for surf between Santa Barbara and Mexico during the winter months and for SUP surfing, this is sufficient, and prevents the overheating that a normal full suit would cause. O'neill makes a quality product, and they know what's needed in the surf zone.
