Shimano FD-M770 XT E-type Front Der Review
After re-framing my mountain bike I needed to get a few new parts.Needing a very specific front shifter (top swing, 34.9), this XT model was available at a decent price.
That was several hundred miles ago.
It was easy to setup initially and I have not touched it since that first test ride.
Shifts are smooth and accurate and lever effort is low.
For what I needed, this is perfect and it works extremely well.
The only potential issue for anyone facing installation is that you cannot disassemble the cage as it is riveted rather than bolted together, you are therefore forced to split the chain to install it, this was not an issue for me as I had the luxury of working with a new chain.
