We only hear about the celebrities that have serious accidents because they fall without a helmet. There are thousands a year in the USA alone.

Initially, I thought it would be intrusive and cumbersome, but this style actually allows me to have a wide view as much as without a helmet. It also easily allows for your goggles. The fit is snug and weighs about the same as a bike helmet. Giro has a neat 'felt vent plus system' that detaches from the inside of the helmet. It's an ingenious 'weather strip vent shield' that prevents wind from getting into your helmet, thus freezing your head. But if the weather is warm, you can take the interior skin off and still have great protection.

Sizes should be tried on before you purchase a helmet, but using a size large, I found it very easy to adjust the circumference strap by dialing the knob in the back in one direction until it felt snug. I could do this with the helmet on and the knob is in the back. The entire interior strap with felt vent coverings can be unsnapped. The chin strap and the ear coverings are built in, but they provide for a nearly unnoticeable fit and the ear coverings keep your ears warm. That is a huge plus. The chin strap is very easy to adjust and snap on and is covered with a soft felt that dries out quickly. The ear pads are actually vented but for warmth so your hearing is not affected at all.

I would suggest shopping around for your style, color and fit to be sure and never buy a used helmet. They can be cracked and worthless. This is a top rated helmet so remember that you always get what you pay for and your head is the most important part of your body. Great Skiing to everyone!
