I got these after watching people destroy their knees on Triple 8 pads and decided that I would rather have too much than too little. I am a referee, so I don't do much playing other than taking part in a practice and the occasional scrimmage, but I wanted to minimize my chances of getting hurt. I haven't had any problems at all with these and I would buy them again if they disappeared.
