Eliminator Global Vision Kit #2 (3 Lenses - Smoke, Clear & Yellow Tint) Review

I recently changed from a full helmet to a smaller helmet. One thing I didn't factor-in was that the wind would whip around my sunglasses, dry-out my eyes (the first time, they ached all day after a 30 min ride), and offer me no protection when riding at night. This product was the perfect solution. I love the tinted and clear lenses, but my wife makes fun of me when I use the yellow ones so those mostly stay in the handy carrying case. The case has separate sleeves inside it, where you can store the extra lenses when not using them.

I'll agree with the difficulty of changing the lenses, mentioned in another review, but I've owned sunglasses with changeable lenses, so I wasn't afraid to muscle-it a bit. I found that the best way is to do one lens at a time, and just pull the top/bottom apart from each other, and at the same time, push the lens forward out of the glasses. When installing a lens, I 'hook' the center and outside corners of the lens into the frame and then pull the top/bottom of the frames apart while pressing gently on the lens with my thumb until it pops into place. After doing it a couple of times, I can change my lenses and have the zipper-case stored back in my saddlebags in under a minute.

Despite how much I like the design, I will probably just buy a second pair to save that valuable pre-ride minute of changing lenses.

If you ever feel the need to look, and be as armored as, Sauron when you ride, then these are the gloves for you.

Okay sure, the helmet would be tricky, but at least you can have his hands!
The gloves fit quite snugly, which is a good thing. No slipping and chaffing, which is no fun at all when you are trying to hold onto the handlebars.

The leather/carbon plates move slickly, feeling substantial, but not confining. A tough compromise with hand armor, since it needs to protect, but it is nice to still be able to move your hand. I haven't taken a fall with these, I am not *that* dedicated to these reviews! But they will definitely protect from basic shock and abrasion. These will not keep your fingers from splaying sideways or bending backwards, honestly I haven't seen much that will. But the leather means your palms will be saved a bit of trauma, and if you were to go over the handlebars, the backs of your hands are decently protected from brush, glass, etc. that hits you on the back of the hand.

The only drawbacks from the construction are also benefits, depending on what you use them for. They are made of leather with a hook/loop fastener wrist. Not quite gauntlet style, the cuffs are long enough to overlap a jacket sleeves, but don't expect a water/wind tight seal with the hook/loop fastener. Also, leather is good for wind and minor abrasion protection, not cold weather protection. Since the glove armor is somewhat bulky, you really cannot put these inside of another glove, and since they fit snugly, getting a glove liner inside of them might be tricky. Not really what they were designed for anyway, but just thought I'd mention it for those who ride in cold weather. Warmth or protection?
If you don't mind your hands being as cold as your icy black heart, then ride forth and crush your enemies with the one true gloves!
