I have used this leash on a daily basis in Hawaii for over a year and have surfed waves over 15' using it. No matter how nasty the wave or fall, I have never had to worry about it breaking. Also, the neoprene padding around the ankle makes it the most comfortable leash I've ever worn. My only complaint is that despite never wrapping it around my board and has a tendency to tangle and wrap around my feet. I store the leash loose in my trunk, not wrapped or coiled at all.
