If you're not a pro, still a beginner who's making mistakes while learning, I think you're better off with more substantial protection. I honestly think a long sleeve jersey would offer comparable protection in some cases, such as mtn biking, as these do not seem to be up to the task on the dirt. If you're playing out on the street at relatively low speeds (under 15 MPH), then this starts to make sense.

I've tried a few soft shelled elbow pads, hoping for something less bulky and easy to put on and take off. All of them slipped down my arm from regular movement. The G-Form is no exception, but I pressed on and wore it for a few months. I have premium arm warmers that stay put extremely well, and even cost less, but these seem poorly designed in comparison to those, as it just seems to be a low-end one, made of low stretch nylon, with a molded rubber-like pad sewn on.

The fit guide is a bit off. I fell clearly within the range of medium, following the guide, and bought based off the guide. In the store, you really can't try them on, since there's a plastic tag string going right through the center of it. I suggest also buying the next smaller size and returning the one that fits poorly.

The real test of this elbow pad came in form of an unexpected crash/fall from my mtn bike, over the front/side of the bike at low-moderate speed (~15 MPH), that I put my hands out for, and slid for a short bit before rolling once. As expected, it didn't even protect from abrasion. I noted that I instinctively adjusted my pads as I got up from the crash and discovered what was basically road rash on the under/inner side of my forearm, stopping about 1 inch from the point of the elbow. I was not wearing them very high up (it slips down anyways), and the pad's circular portion was situated right on my elbow--unless I'm wrong about wearing it, it doesn't seem like user error. Very disappointing limited protection. At least the very tip of my elbows came out without a scratch and the pads survived and the cut was relatively clean (I was covered in dust/dirt elsewhere). Admittedly, it did its job as an "elbow guard". I may be expecting too much by hoping for forearm protection too. Too bad I'm not trained to hit the ground with a flying elbow attack like a WWE wrestler, and instead instinctively putting my hands out, then forearm(s) down, as my body's natural response to keep my head from hitting the ground.

I think I'll be going back to try other elbow/forearm armor (planning on checking out Troy Lee EG5550 and Race Face). Can't fold/roll it up like you can with these, but that's not a huge plus for my anyways. The biggest plus is the comfort of these, but when compared to quality arm warmers and "sun sleeves", I find these have a lot to room to improve. I'd say wait for the redesign, assuming they care about feedback.

I recommend looking for something else if you're looking for arm protection that works sufficiently for mtn biking. Better than nothing, but this is a $45-50 supposedly advanced piece of protective equipment that feels very cheap and seems to do very poorly at its intended purpose. If you weren't wearing anything before and think this is cheap insurance that is extremely light and low profile, almost like wearing nothing, well... you got the almost like wearing nothing part right. I think a long sleeve moto jersey, with sewn-in foam cushions/pads, is not that much worse, and those can be found under $20 on sale. I think the common design failure is that the pads aren't tightly secured to not move in a crash.
