I've owned this hat for a little over a year. I bought it in an outfitter's shop getting ready to kayak in the San Juan Islands (in October!) It was wonderful, keeping the wind out. It retains its shape when tightly packed and even a year later is not showing any wear. The reason I'm writing this is that I was further amazed by it just yesterday. I went for a two mile walk to a local coffee shop yesterday in a blistering 4 degree (F) day. I was decked out in a heavy coat, neck gaiter and the Wind Pro Hat. At no time during the trek did I experience even the slightest cold on my ears. Amazing Hat. I planning on checking out other Outdoor Research items (got my eye on some gloves), you should definitely take a look at this hat.
